our story

Thank you for your interest in jackaroo. We’d like to tell you a little bit about ourselves. We are sisters, friends, stay-at-home moms, and hometown girls. We have fond memories from growing up in Pleasanton of walking to the dairy for frosties, dancing at concerts in the park, and going to the farmers’ market. Jackers (Jill's one year old son, Jack) and Riley-Roo (Erin's two year old daughter, Riley) were the inspiration for our business. We love designing and creating things for our kiddos. We’d love to create something for you to enjoy with your kiddos or to share with family and friends.

Jill's background is in early childhood development and education. She is now savoring her time at home in Dublin with Jack, but, until recently, she taught first grade at Vintage Hills Elementary School. Erin's background is in architecture and education. She is now savoring her time at home in Livermore with Riley, but, until recently, she taught industrial technology at Amador Valley High School. Amazingly enough, Erin took over teaching for the very same man who taught her how to draft.
We are both passionate about finding and buying high quality, inspirational products for our kiddos that aren't going to break the bank. As mothers and consumers, we got involved in the design process to create solutions that met the needs and wants of both of our families. When we cannot find exactly what we are looking for (i.e. the perfect children's play canopy) already on the market, we sit down to create the perfect solution. Plus, we love working and spending time together!
We like to think we put the fun in functional because we make beautiful, yet practical, items for you to use and enjoy with your kiddos. We hope you like what you see, and we look forward to doing business with you. Feel free to contact us at designsbyjackaroo@gmail.com.
